There are many examples of monkeys and apes solving the puzzles that we set them. We want to make puzzles that aren’t too easy, but also not far too hard for our monkeys and apes to get.

Sometimes we might be interested in how an idea spreads through a group (do some monkeys copy others and who do they copy?). Then we are really interested in making sure that the puzzle can be solved by some of the monkeys.

We usually give away food that the animals like – things like grapes, raisins or peanuts. They love this food.

I don’t work with apes. But when we do well in labs our supervisor (boss) takes us out for drinks… a similar idea I think!!
