There are quite a few different colours. Many are brown or black, as this camouflages them a bit. However, there are several other colours.

For example, lion tamarins from South America are ginger (and have a fun little mane like a lion). Some species of capuchin monkey are black-and-white (although the one I work with are brown).

There are also sometimes some really bright colours – it is usually the high-ranking males that are brightly coloured to show that they are the boss. For example, in mandrills the high-ranking males have bright red and blue faces and bums!
