• Question: Why is it enjoyable giving talks?

      Haha when I said talks I meant going to listen to someone else give talks. Giving talks can be enjoyable but I have quite a bit of stage fright — I’m working on it, and I do much better now than when I started. But I think it’ll be a few years still until I start to properly enjoy giving talks 🙂

    I love giving them – it started as a cynical job protection exercise and I got the bug. Trying to find an entertaining way to explain a subject for a general audience really forces you to know your stuff, and it gives me silly excuses to do things like unfry eggs and stick Revels in the centrifuge 🙂
