      Hi Jessi,

Yes I love it. Research is always finding out new things about what is good and bad for public health and what I do is I take the findings and then look at whether people have changes in fertility.

For example, cooking certain foods at high temperatures has been associated with production of compounds which inhibit protein function in the body, like collagen in your skin or haemoglobin in your blood, contributing to diseases like diabetes and atherosclerosis. What I investigate is whether these compounds can also affect sperm function and whether changing lifesyle can improve fertility.

I am in the second year of my PhD so I haven’t been doing it for very long. I think I would like to continue my career looking into public health.
