Actually my choice of university was quite an odd process. I applied to study veterinary science (I wanted to be a vet), but I didn’t get onto any of the courses. So I was in ‘clearing’ which is the system where people without an offer from a university and universities that still have some places get matched up. I was lucky because many universities don’t have spare places and when I saw St Andrews on the list with some places left on a Zoology course, I jumped at the chance to come here (and I have been here on-and-off for about 12 years now).
