• Question: If we evolved from chimps/monkeys then why are they still here?

      Think of your cousins – you share ancestors (your grandparents), but you and your cousin are still different people.

      Evolution is the same – we have the same ancestors as chimps and monkeys (and, if you go far enough back in time with every living thing), but we didn’t evolve *from* the chimps and monkeys that we see today.

      Don’t think of evolution as a ladder with us at the top, think of it as a huge spreading family tree! We may have amazing brains, but we are no more evolved than any other species.
