      I look at how they solve puzzles and how they then learn from one another. In some work I compared how capuchin monkeys, chimps and children all did at the same puzzle. The children did better because they tended to work together and help one another out, but the capuchins and chimps were much more likely to try to solve the puzzle themselves and keep the knowledge to themselves.
