Question: What is the most interesting or suprising result from the puzzles you give the monkeys?

One thing that really surprised me with chimpanzees (which are apes) was that mothers didn’t really help their sons and daughters much. In the wild people have seen mothers helping their offspring learn some new things.

However, with our puzzle there was one mother who stole food from her own daughter over 80 times! It was probably because the daughter was doing better at the puzzle than her mum (which meant she was getting nicer food – bits of apple instead of bits of carrot).
