I did do quite a lot of horse riding as a kid – I was never that good, but I did love getting out around the countryside where we loved. I also developed my love of cricket as a kid. When I wasn’t doing that, I used to play the piano and drums quite a lot.

I used to hide away and be unsocial and read books 🙂

I learnt how to sketch and that occupied me for a while but I was never great. Now, I just doodle! Also, I tried learning Indian classical music (it’s a thing, like piano or violin lessons are here I think, are they?) because my parents wanted me to– I started at three different times, but quit. I also started learning classical dance at some point and quit in a few months. So I figured out early that art really wasn’t for me 🙂

I did an awful lot of pottery – I got quite into making my own glazes and things too. I still have several things knocking around – a pot which is the home to a thirty year old cactus, a couple of jugs I still use and my parents have a couple of vases.

I play Irish folk music on the fiddle (the same as a violin) so when I was younger we used to go to music sessions in pubs where everyone would play tunes and there was some singing from a few people. It was a lot of fun and I still go every now and again though I wish I played more. If you play an instrument definitely keep it up!

I was in to a lot of different hobbies when I was younger! Skiing was probably my favourite, I just love the outdoors and the mountains. Although I learnt and practiced on a dry slope in Reading which is somewhat less glamourous!
